With all of the business of school, work, home renovation, parties, AWANA, travel, etc. some of the things that are usually a joy at Christmas time (shopping, decorating, Christmas cards) began to feel like a checklist this year. I hated that because I usually really enjoy all of the things that others find so stressful.
While doing some last minute shopping, I grabbed this book- Why the Nativity? by David Jeremiah. It really helped me center in on the purpose of Christmas despite the many distractions this year.
Some of my favorite quotes-

And I leave you with this one... "And December 25? It's as good a day as any. It's a "together day" when we can all feel the world bowing as one before the King. But all of the other days are Christmas, too. That's the measure of his great gift for us."
